This attack moved deeply the hearts of British and Polish people

On July 7, 2006 the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, extended his condolences to the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Tony Blair, on the anniversary of terrorist attacks in London.

In the text of the wire we read:

“One year ago 52 people were killed, among them the citizens of the Republic of Poland, and many others were injured in the terrorist attacks in London. This attack moved deeply the hearts of British and Polish people.

On behalf of the Polish People I wish to extend our sincere condolences to the Prime Minister and the families of the victims. We stay united in thoughts with everyone who was affected by this horrible tragedy and we pray for the victims and their relatives.

Poland stands side by side with Great Britain, its friend and Ally, in the fight against international terrorism and makes efforts to provide security to the citizens of the Free World”

On the European Constitutional Treaty

On July 7, 2006 the President of the Republic of Poland, Lech Kaczyński, met with the President of the Republic of France, Valery Giscard d’Estaing.

During the joint conference, the President of the Republic of Poland said:

“I wish to thank President Giscard d’Estaing once again that he was willing to accept my invitation. The invitation was forwarded to Mr. President during our meeting in the Embassy of Poland in Paris a few months ago. I must say that I had long and one of the most interesting talks in my whole political life, and not only during the term of my presidency. We talked about issues concerning above all the European constitution and Europe in general. Mr. President’s comments made me reconsider certain things and I believe that it was one of the most effective time during all my meetings with the representatives of foreign states. Once again I wish to thank Mr. President for – may I repeat – a fascinating meeting. Thank you very much.”
