Poland tends to gain broader access to the Chinese market

On 13th April 2006 the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński met with the PRC Vice Premier Hui Liangyu and the government delegation accompanying him, including i.a. Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture. 

In the discussion the President of the
Republic of Poland raised economic issues, indicating Poland’s will to gain broader access to the Chinese market. He also indicated Poland’s negative balance of trade with China amounting to USD 4.9 billion. The interlocutors discussed current international political issues and raised the issue of the situation in Iran

Vice Premier Liangyu conveyed on behalf of PRC President Hu Jintao an invitation to the President of the
Republic of Poland to pay an official visit in China. The President of the Republic of Poland thanked for the invitation and indicated the second half of 2007 as the likely time of the visit. 

Vice Premier Liangyu spoke very positively about the status of bilateral relations. He underscored the significant dynamics of growth of Polish exports to
China, amounting to 23% over the same period of the previous year. He informed that the PRC government is additionally encouraging its businessmen to make investments and purchases in Poland. He spoke with appreciation about Poland’s economic growth and the prospects connected with EU membership.
