Krzysztof Hubert Łaszkiewicz- Secretary of State

Krzysztof Hubert Łaszkiewicz was born in 1947 in Warsaw.


He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. He holds a doctor of legal sciences degree, which he received at the above faculty.


He worked in the state administration, dealing with legal and organizational issues of special administration, associations and social organisations.


After 1989, Łaszkiewicz took part in the formation of civic ownership societies based on the democratic principles of the state of law.


As a parliamentary expert, he worked on the issues of property rights and ownership changes related to the political transformation. During his work as a political groups expert, Łaszkiewicz dealt with similar issues, as well as with ownership supervision.


Krzysztof Łaszkiewicz is the author and co-author of draft laws on property restitution and compensations.


Between 1993 and 1996, he was the chairman of the Consultative Council for Property Restitution.
From 1997 to 2001 he served as Deputy Minister of the State Treasury. Among the issues Łaszkiewicz worked on were ownership law and the problems of capital markets and funds. He also supervised the processes of ownership changes and worked as a real estate manager.


Between 1997 and 2001, he was a member of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Polonia and Poles Abroad, the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission and the Committee for Export Insurance Policy.
In the same period he served as Co-Chair of the Group for Municipal Entities Privatization in the Joint Committee of the Central Government and Territorial Governments and was a member of the Tripartite Commission as a representative of the Government.


Łaszkiewicz was a shareholder of law and consulting firms and a member of supervisory boards of commercial companies.


From 1997 to 2002 he was the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the State Treasury Agricultural Property Agency, AWRSP.


Łaszkiewicz was a member of the Polish Jockey Club Council between 2001 and 2006. Between 2002 and 2004, he was a shareholder in a law firm.


In 2005-2006 he performed various functions in the Supervisory Board of the Military Housing Agency WAM and in other bodies.


In 2007 Łaszkiewicz again became Deputy Minister of the Treasury and held this position until 2010. He dealt with property rights issues, ownership claims and exercised ownership supervision of the military industry and real property of the State Treasury. Łaszkiewicz supervised the processes of privatization, as well as bankruptcy and liquidation of companies. Currently, he is a member of the Council of Ministers Committee for Computerisation and Communications.


He is married.


On 30 September 2010, by the decision of the Polish President, Bronisław Komorowski, Krzysztof Łaszkiewicz was appointed Secretary of State in the President's Chancellery. In the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Łaszkiewicz deals with issues of the legal and political system, nationality and pardon.
