"I hope that the trade between Poland and Croatia will increase, through Polish investments in Croatia, among others", Polish President Andrzej Duda said at a joint press conference with the Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic in Zagreb on Tuesday. Polish President, on a three-day official visit to Croatia, announced that he would make every effort to improve the economic and business cooperation between Poland and Croatia.

He noted that during his visit to Croatia he was accompanied by Polish business representatives, and on Wednesday a Polish-Croatian business meeting would take place. In Andrzej Duda's opinion many businessmen from Poland will consider investing in Croatia.

The Polish president assured that Croatia was a country very (...) highly rated as a holiday destination by the Polish people.

President Duda said he was grateful for the Croatian Defence Council' decision that Croatian soldiers would join the allied forces in Poland.

"I hope the Croatian Parliament will also make appropriate decisions in this respect and Croatian troops will be part of the allied forces stationed in Orzysz", he said in Zagreb on Tuesday.

"We are both absolutely convinced that Europe today needs cohesion and solidarity, that we are absolutely against dividing the EU into unions of various speeds", stressed Polish President.

"This is not something that Poland would like to see, that Croatia would strive for", Andrzej Duda pointed out. "We want the EU to be as uniform as possible, and we want to create conditions so that there are no more situations like Brexit", he added.

According to the Polish president the EU needs more democracy. As he noted, more decision-making and cooperation should be seen at the EU level, between EU institutions and national parliaments.

"In my view, the role of national parliaments should grow in the future EU", Andrzej Duda concluded. (PAP, own information)
