President Bronisław Komorowski meets Dalia Grybauskiatė

During their meeting in Lithuania, the two presidents discussed the current status of Polish-Lithuanian relations, the situation of national minorities in Poland and Lithuania, and issues concerning joint activities on the international stage. They also announced that cooperation between the two countries will remain close and that the strategic partnership will continue to be developed. Their talks also concerned preparations for the presidency of Poland and Lithuania over the EU, Lithuanian presidency over OSCE in 2011, and work on the new strategic concept for NATO.

The presidents of Poland and Lithuania consented to continuing strategic transport and energy related projects concerning the establishment of gas and power engineering links between the two countries. These connections are very important for Poland, the Baltic States, and the European Union in general. They also agreed that the performance of safety and defence related priority tasks needs to be coordinated, especially as regards NATO's collective defences and challenges that it will face in connection with new threats. The two presidents also decided that these issues should become a part of the new strategic concept for NATO.

They approved of the celebrations which took place in connection with the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald. Relating to the battle, they emphasized the significance of the history which binds the two countries together, facilitating the establishment of mutual trust and cooperation with the goal of achieving common objectives.
