President meets the Prime Minister of Ukraine
President Bronisław Komorowski of Poland met Prime Minister Mykola Azarov of Ukraine during an official state visit to Poland.
During their meeting, they discussed the condition of the bilateral relations between their countries. Bronisław Komorowski emphasized that Poland continues to support Ukraine’s struggle towards EU integration – a token of this support being his planned participation in the 7th YES Annual Meeting in Yalta on 1st October 2010. They also discussed cooperation opportunities concerning the armaments and energy industries and the pursuit of economic activities by Polish companies in Ukraine. They also talked, in light of EURO 2012, about facilitating cross-border traffic.
Bronisław Komorowski pointed out that public opinion in Poland and Europe generally is very sensitive to whether principles concerning the freedom of the media and civil liberties are being observed in countries striving towards integration with the European Union.
