The visit began with a welcoming ceremony in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace at 10 a.m. before moving on to a private meeting between the two presidents. After they finished discussing various issues, Komorowski and Yanukovych took presidency over a plenary session of Polish and Ukrainian delegations.

At noon the signing ceremony took place of the following documents: the Road Map of Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation for 2011-2013 and a cooperation agreement concerning the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, the State Agency of Ukraine for Investment and National Projects, and the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.

Later, Bronisław Komorowski and Viktor Yanukovych took part in a press conference. "We also have a wide range of joint plans which we will be working on as we meet on occasions such as the 20th anniversary of Ukraine's declaration of independence," Bronisław Komorowski said. He also remarked that Poland was the first state to recognize the independence of Ukraine.

"The visit of Viktor Yanukovych to Poland confirms that we are continuing to cooperate in order to maintain and develop the strategic partnership between our countries," Komorowski added.

He also said that his talks with Yanukovych concerned issues such as Ukraine's aspirations to take part in European integration, and he remarked that Ukraine is now making itself ready to conclude three important agreements with the EU: an association agreement, a free trade zone agreement, and an agreement concerning visa abolition.

In the afternoon, the two presidents visited the construction site of the National Stadium in the Praga district of Warsaw, giving them the opportunity to discuss matters related to the organisation by their countries of the 2012 European Football Championship.

In the evening, Bronisław Komorowski held an official dinner in honour of Viktor Yanukovych.

On Friday morning, in the Royal Baths Park in Warsaw, Bronisław Komorowski presented Viktor Yanukovych, the President of Ukraine currently on a visit to Poland, with Rochacz and Laguna – two Polish pedigree Carpathian ponies – as a gift from Polish horse-breeders to Ukrainian horse-breeders.

Subsequently, Bronisław Komorowski and Viktor Yanukovych went to the Warsaw Stock Exchange to take part in the closing ceremony of the Ukraine-Poland Economic Summit. The Polish President drew attention to the fact that there are five Ukrainian companies listed on the WSE. “And there will be more, as this would certainly be beneficial to everyone,” he said.

Bronisław Komorowski also encouraged Ukraine to make use of the Polish experience concerning self-government and autonomy. “The path we chose has given us additional opportunities,” he emphasized.

President Komorowski made it clear that Poland continues to support independent Ukraine's struggle towards “becoming united with integrated Europe” not only for sentimental reasons.
