President Bronisław Komorowski on Thursday received Poland's Ambassador to Belarus Leszek Szerepka. The ambassador returned to Poland after Belarus has asked the ambassadors of the EU and Poland to Minsk to leave the country for consultations.

Ambassador Szerepka said after the meeting he hoped that he would return to Belarus along with other ambassadors of the European Union.

"It must be said clearly, I have not been expelled from Belarus. I was asked to go to Poland for consultations. This is a completely different level of diplomatic relations," Szerepka told reporters.

He added that this "Friday marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Polish-Belarusian diplomatic relations. I deeply trust that the next period will be much better..."
