President Bronislaw Komorowski on Tuesday received Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to discuss Polish-Turkish cooperation and the situation in Ukraine, among other issues.

During the meeting at the Belvedere Palace the two officials discussed the current status and development prospects of Polish-Turkish cooperation. Presidents Komorowski and Davutoglu also expressed satisfaction with the celebrations of the 600th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

President Komorowski expressed his appreciation for the fact that Turkey was abolishing visas for Poles, underlining that this would contribute to more intensive relations between the two countries, their people and their economies, according to the press release.

The talks also concerned developments in the Eastern Partnership countries. (The two officials) agreed on the need for full implementation of the decisions from the NATO summit in Newport, especially in the light of Russia's aggressive policy in the region eastwards of NATO's borders.
