A letter of the President of the Republic of Poland to the President of the United States of America on US Independence...

The letter reads as follows:
On the occasion of the 229th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, I wish to offer you, Mr. President, and all American people--on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Poland--our wishes for every success in the pursuit of the plans that will ensure peace for America and security and prosperity for its citizens. I am pleased to note that relations between the Polish people and the American people have never been as close, as friendly and cordial in our history.
I recall with satisfaction our meeting in Washington, DC, in February 2005. I thank you for your warm and cordial words addressed to my country, and for your personal contribution, Mr. President, to the shaping of Polish-US cooperation. Our cooperation better and better meets the aspirations of the two nations and peoples, and faces up to the contemporary global challenges.
Active US involvement on the continent of Europe and the strengthening of the existing transatlantic partnership are in the interest of both Europe and the United States. Only with mutual co-operation is it possible to shape the international environment in such a way as to bring peace, stability and prosperity to the peoples of the world.
At this moment, so important to you and to your fellow countrymen, I wish you and all the American people every success and prosperity.
