Condolences from the President of France to the President of Poland

On 22nd July 2007 Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of the French Republic, in connection with the tragic accident of the Polish coach in France, expressed his deep compassion speaking on the telephone with President Lech Kaczyński and sent his condolences in writing.

The message reads as follows:

I was deeply moved to learn of the coach accident, which occurred this morning in France, near Grenoble, and which cost the lives of at least twenty one of your fellow countrymen as well as many injured.

In these painful moments for Poland I wish to express my compassion and submit my condolences full of grief, through your good offices. Solidarity of the French nation stands by Poland in this arduous trial.

I would be grateful to you for conveying expressions of compassion and sympathy to families of the killed and to the injured persons.

Mr President, please accept expressions of my utmost respect.
