Poland supports Georgia in its aspirations to NATO membership
On Wednesday, February 18th, Lech Kaczyński visited the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigol Vashadze in the Presidential Palace. The main subject of their talks was the current situation in Georgia, and especially in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as well as in the whole of the South Caucasus.
Lech Kaczyński assured the Minister that Georgians can count on Poland’s support with regard to the territorial integrity of Georgia in the boundaries recognized by the international community. President Kaczyński also declared to support Georgia in its aspirations to NATO membership during the April summit of the Alliance in Strasbourg and Kehl.
Other discussed subjects included Russian-Georgian and Georgian-American relations, as well as the issue of energy security and Georgia’s involvement in the Eastern Partnership project.
