Adam Kwiatkowski – Secretary of State

Adam Kwiatkowski was born on 7 December 1972 in Warsaw. He graduated from the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw.

In the years 1994-2006, he was a Local Councillor for the Praga-South District, and in the years 2006 – 2011, a City Councillor for Warsaw. Mr Kwiatkowski chaired the Environment Committee, also he served in the Budget and Finance Committee, and in the Committee for Social Welfare and Prevention of Pathologies.

He was Director of the Department of Strategy, Regional Development and Structural Funds in the Marshal's Office of the Mazowieckie Region (2003), Vice President of the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw (2004-2006), and also a European Union funds’ adviser to Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, and the Secretary of the Monitoring Committee for the Absorption of the European Union Funds (2006-2007).

In the Chancellery of President Lech Kaczynski he was, among others, responsible for the preparation of visits and meetings attended by the President. He is one of the founding members of the President Lech Kaczyński Social Movement.

In the general elections of 2011, Mr Kwiatkowski was elected to the Sejm. He sat on the Committee for Contacts with Poles Abroad and the Public Finance Committee, also presiding over the works of the Team for the Protection of Freedom of Speech.

On 7 August 2015, Mr Kwiatkowski received from President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda an appointment to the position of Secretary of State, Chief of the Cabinet of the President of Poland, in addition holding in the Chancellery of the President the responsibility for maintaining contacts with Poles abroad.

For many years, Mr Kwiatkowski has been cooperating with the Kozminsky University, where he held lectures on Entrepreneurship of Local Communities.

He has a passion for skiing and travelling. He spends his leisure time playing tennis and riding a bike with his wife Ula. He is a happy father of two sons: Szymon and Stefan, and a daughter Kinga.
