Andrzej Dera – Secretary of State
Andrzej Dera was born on 10 December 1965 in Ostrów Wielkopolski. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań. He completed his judge training, and subsequently passed a judicial exam.
In the years 1990-1997, Mr Dera was Head of the Regional Office in Ostrów Wielkopolski. In 1999-2002, he was Head of the Ostrowskie District Executive having previously served as as City Councillor of Ostrów Wielkopolski (from 1990 until 1994) and from 1998 to 2005, as District Councillor in the Ostrowski District. Mr Dera was a deputy to the Polish Sejm in its 5th, 6th and 7th term of office. In 2007 he was a member of the Civil Service Council reporting to the Prime Minister. Moreover, in the years 2006-2011, Mr Dera was a member of the National Judiciary Council.
On 16 November 2015, he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland Mr Andrzej Duda to the position of Secretary of State at the Chancellery of the President.
