Phone conversation with the president of Ukraine
The presidents of Poland and Ukraine confirmed the need to strengthen efforts for peace in Ukraine to be made by a broad coalition of states, including Poland, in their phone conversation held Friday. Andrzej Duda assured Poroshenko of continued good cooperation.
Petro Poroshenko, who called Andrzej Duda, confirmed the strategic nature of bilateral relations based on European values. Poroshenko also informed about the aggravation of situation in eastern Ukraine and violations of the Minsk cease-fire agreements.
"Both presidents stressed the need for stepping up efforts in favour of peace in Ukraine to be made by a broad coalition of partners, including Poland," the statement goes on. President Duda assured Petro Poroshenko of his determination to have good and intensive cooperation with Poroshenko and to continue Poland's active role in eastern policy.
Andrzej Duda's special envoy minister Krzysztof Szczerski will go to Ukraine shortly to work out a detailed plan of contacts in future. (PAP)
