President Andrzej Duda started an official visit to Ukraine on Monday evening. Talks with Ukrainian officials are planned to focus on new forms of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, with special emphasis on political contacts and strategic partnership.

The president is accompanied by his wife Agata. Late on Tuesday he visited the Polish Military Cemetery in Bykivnia.

After an official welcome ceremony on Tuesday morning, the Polish head of state and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko will chair talks of the two delegations. A press conference is planned after the talks.

Later in the day the Polish president will meet with Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk and head of the Supreme Council of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

In the evening, the Polish president will meet at the Polish Embassy with students and young intellectuals as well as Poles living in Ukraine.
The main aim of the visit is to "re-establish the directions of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation," according to Presidential Minister Krzysztof Szczerski. (PAP)
