The President opens an exhibition in Madrid

Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece “Lady with an Ermine”

“Poland. Art treasures and collections” or the “Golden Age of the Polish Republic” – this is the title of an exhibition opened in Madrid by the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski and King of Spain, Juan Carlos I.


The exhibition, prepared by the National Museum in Kraków, graces Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. The inauguration of the exhibition is one of the agenda highlights during the President and the First Lady’s visit to Spain.


This exposition of some of the achievements of Polish art and culture are exhibited in one of the most prestigious exhibition halls in Spain - the Palacio Real The jewel of the collection is Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece “Lady with an Ermine.” This allegorical portrait of Cecilia Gallerani – a piece ahead of its time – is the pride of this Polish art collection.
