President in Prague for Eastern Partnership meeting

Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski arrived in Prague on Thursday afternoon to take part in a meeting marking the 5th anniversary of the EU Eastern Partnership programme aimed at consolidating cooperation with the EU's eastern neighbours.
The Prague high-level meeting, hosted by Czech President Milos Zeman, is attended by representatives of Eastern Partnership countries and of a number of EU member states as well as EU officials.
Opening the meeting the Czech president said that the Eastern Partnership programme should be understood as part of the good neighbourhood policy.
This is not an EU kindergarten but a project designed to make the EU a good neighbour for the participating countries, Zeman said.
A press conference of the meeting participants is planned after the second session on Friday.
During his recent meetings with the presidents of Georgia and Moldova President Komorowski declared Poland's support for those countries' pro-Western drive and European integration efforts. (PAP)
