President Bronislaw Komorowski appointed Borys Budka Poland's new justice minister during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace on Monday.
Bronislaw Komorowski stressed that the appointment of the new minister will mean the intensification of work at the ministry.
"There is always time for good work and I am sure that also in this case the change at the helm of the Justice Ministry will not mean a stoppage of the work but its intensification, also in view of the political calendar..." said the president.
President Komorowski said he counts, among others, on finalising work on a draft concerning free legal assistance and legal education. "A very vital and expected issue," the president stressed.
Budka, 37, is a law graduate from Silesian University. He is an experienced local government activist, Civic Platform MP and a lecturer. As an MP, Budka has represented Poland's parliament before the Constitutional Tribunal in some 60 cases. (PAP)
