Kazimierz Sabbat

Born on 27 February 1913 in Bieliny Kapitulne at the foot of the Lysa Gora mountain. Competed secondary school in Mielec, and studied at the Department of Law of the Warsaw University shortly before the war. Was a scout, and also later proved faithful to the scouting organisation.


After short service in the Navy he was directed to the Mechanised Brigade of General Maczek. Wounded during retreat, he reached Great Britain where he was directed to the General Staff as officer responsible for youth. Discharged from the army in 1948, he set up his own business. Worked for the scouting organisation and the Association of Polish Veterans on a gratuitous basis. In the Executive of the National Union he managed the Treasury Division, and later became the President of the Union.


He attempted to unite the émigré circles. After the expiry of his term of office he wanted to pass his function to a possible successor in Poland. He died during the times of the dramatic breakthrough in Poland - on 19 July 1989.
